YOUTH CULTURE. UN FILM SUI MARLENE KUNTZ AL FESTIVAL DEI POPOLI A FIRENZE
Il Festival dei Popoli, a Firenze dal 27 novembre al 4 dicembre, è arrivato alla sua 56ima edizione quest’anno, punto di riferimento per gli appassionati di cinema “di ricerca”.
“Complimenti per la festa”, un docu-film sulla band italiana di rock alternativo Marlene Kuntz, sarà presentato martedì 1 dicembre al festival.
Lo scorso anno il regista Sebastiano Luca Insinga ha proposto a Cristiano Godano, cantante della band, di celebrare il ventesimo anniversario del lancio dell’album Catartica con un film.
La band aveva già deciso di fare un tour per il compleanno dell’EP in Italia, annunciando dieci date ( che divennero 30). La crew del fim ha seguito la band durante questo viaggio.
I Marlene Kuntz durante la loro carriera hanno collaborato con artisti internazionali come Skin, Patti Smith, Rob Ellis e Nick Cave.
“Complimenti per la festa” ha rappresentato un occasione per vedere allo stesso tempo la band di venti anni fa e la band di adesso. Hanno conservato la stessa buona musica e lo stesso spirito, anche se allora erano solo giovani ragazzi di provincia e adesso sono acclamati artisti e padri.
Se siete a Firenze martedì primo dicembre non perdete la premiere del film al Cinema Odeon alle 21.30.

Festival dei Popoli, in Florence from the 27th of november to the 4th of december, has arrived to its 56th edition this years, landmark for the lovers of “search” cinema.
“Complimenti per la festa”, a documentary movie about italian alternative rock band Marlene Kuntz, will be presented tuesday 1st december at the festival.
Last year director Sebastiano Luca Insinga proposed to Cristiano Godano, lead singer of the band, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the album Catartica with a movie.
The band had already decided to make a tour for the EP’s birthday in Italy, announcing ten dates (which became 30). The movie crew followed the band during this trip.
Marlene Kuntz during their career have collaborated with International artists like Skin, Patti Smith, Rob Ellis and Nick Cave.
“Complimenti per la festa” has represented an occasion of seeing at the same time
the band of twenty years ago and the band now. They saved the same good music and the same spirit: even if at the time they were only young province guys and now they are acclaimed artists and fathers.
